Florence + the Machine conclude their High As Hope world tour at the famous Herodion Theatre, set on the hill of Acropolis beneath the historical Parthenon monument.
Speaking of the show, Florence said:
The venue was originally built for the wife of Herodes Atticus, Aspasia Annia Regilla, in 174 A.D. The Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports is extremely strict about which modern acts may perform at the theatre, and must justify their reasons for the use of the space during application.
Florence’s manager, Hannah Gioannoulis, told Architectural Digest that “The set design will be as minimal as possible to highlight the beauty of the venue. Greek mythology has played a big part in Florence's songwriting, so I would imagine those songs will make an appearance. Florence is honored to be granted the opportunity to perform her last concert on this album in such a magical place."
